Meredith Potts, MPH
Executive Director
Meredith has served as the Executive Director of FIRE since 2004, when she revitalized the organization after a multi-year hiatus. Under her leadership, FIRE’s programs have evolved from delivering aid door-to-door with volunteers in rural Mongolia to spearheading Mongolia’s efforts to eliminate hepatitis. Her leadership has earned FIRE a reputation for integrity, as well as for establishing diverse and strong working relationships with local, international, public, private, and government organizations. FIRE’s programming is known for its efficiency, empowerment, and innovation.
Meredith is responsible for grants management, program planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting. She oversees the Flagstaff office and manages teams in Mongolia and Nepal to research, implement, and evaluate ongoing and future programs.
In 2017, Meredith was recognized as one of 18 Hepatitis C Change Makers and one of 6 Hepatitis C Change Maker Honorees by The Economist Intelligence Unit. Change Makers were acknowledged for their innovative work in inspiring and guiding peers towards HCV elimination. Meredith has been a member of Rotary International since 2011, served as President of the Flagstaff Rotary Club from 2022 to 2023, and is currently a Board Member. She holds a master’s in public health from UC Berkeley.
