Meredith Potts, MPH
Executive Director
Meredith has served as the Executive Director of FIRE since 2004, when she revitalized the organization after a multi-year hiatus. Under her leadership, FIRE’s programs have evolved from delivering aid door-to-door with volunteers in rural Mongolia to spearheading one of Mongolia’s most effective efforts to eliminate hepatitis. Her leadership has earned FIRE a reputation for integrity, as well as for establishing diverse and strong working relationships with local, international, public, private, and government organizations. FIRE’s programming is known for its efficiency, empowerment, and innovation.
Meredith is responsible for program development, management and evaluation. She oversees operations in Mongolia and Flagstaff, and maintains FIRE’s global network of partners. In 2017, Meredith was recognized as one of 18 Hepatitis C Change Makers and one of 6 Hepatitis C Change Maker Honorees by The Economist Intelligence Unit for her innovative work inspiring and guiding peers towards HCV elimination. Meredith has been a member of Rotary International since 2011, served as President of the Rotary Club of Flagstaff from 2022 to 2023, and is currently a Board Member of RC Flagstaff. She holds a master’s in public health from UC Berkeley.
