Although our efforts are focused overseas, FIRE thrives because of our generous local supporters. For over eleven years the communities of Flagstaff and the United States at large, have helped FIRE to collect, pack and ship 76 tons of winter clothing, medical and school supplies. Members of the medical community travel with us to deliver training, and local Flagstaff volunteers maintain all of our administrative needs.  These strong community ties are the foundation of FIRE.

FIRE’s Community Partnership Program is designed to benefit  both you or your business and FIRE. We can personalize a plan to suit your unique focus.  Our partners will receive free advertising in FIRE’s promotional materials and a tax deduction.  Join us in developing a closer connection to the community while giving back at the same time!

There are three easy ways to participate :

• Restaurant Partner - Include a special menu item for FIRE or host a FIRE evening

• Retail Partner - Feature one of FIRE's unique, hand made, fair trade items in your store.

• Community Sponsor - Make a monthly contribution to FIRE of $10, $20, $50 or more. Or make an in-kind donation of items or services.

The benefits for you include:      

   • A link on FIRE’s Community Partners web page.

   • Mention in FIRE promotional materials.                      

   • FIRE actively directing people to your business.

• Feeling good about doing good!

Retail Partner

FIRE has a variety of fair trade, handmade items which are purchased directly from the people who make them, including embroidered bags, pillows, felt slippers, hand painted cards, fine art and so much more.

• The retail store chooses one or more of FIRE’s retail items to carry exclusively in their store.

• The items are purchased from FIRE with a portion of the wholesale cost being a tax-deductible donation to FIRE.

• Each item will have a special tag describing the partnership program, FIRE, and the artist who hand made the item.

• For the life of the partnership, your store will also be featured as one of FIRE’s community partners. This will include visible signage at events, a link on our website and mention in promotional materials.

Community Sponsor

Most of our administrative overhead costs stay local in Flagstaff. A monthly donation from you allows us to cover our administrative costs and helps your money directly support FIRE and the Flagstaff community. An in-kind donation of items or services that FIRE would otherwise pay for dramatically cuts our overhead costs.

• You select an amount to be withdrawn each month from your bank account. We suggest $20, $50, $100 or you can choose an amount appropriate for you.

• Make an in-kind donation of items or services. Please visit our list of in-kind needs for more information.

• For the life of the partnership, your store will also be featured as one of FIRE’s community partners. This will include visible signage at events, a link on our website and mention in promotional materials.

Restaurant Partner

Our restaurant partners help us get the word out about our organization by sharing our purpose and making FIRE more visible within the Flagstaff community.

• The restaurant creates a new menu item or "donates" a tried-and-true item to be featured in the program. This item is priced at $2.00 above the normal menu cost, with these extra funds given as a tax-deductible donation to FIRE.

• If you would like, we will work with our FIRE design team and the restaurant management to create an attractive table topper or menu addition, to suit the style and specifications of the restaurant. This table topper (etc.) will feature the menu item, and promote the FIRE programs that the proceeds of this purchase will benefit.

• To promote the special menu item, FIRE will host a "kick off" event in your restaurant during a slow weeknight. This event will include local advertising, highlighting your restaurant. FIRE will bring in a musician for the evening, and FIRE directors will be present to answer any questions. We would like the restaurant to consider donating a portion of the evening’s proceeds to FIRE. We would also like to offer the servers or the restaurant 10% of any additional contributions facilitated throughout the evening.
